Yesterday was Mother's Day.
I am going to be blunt. My children don't make it special. It is just another day where dishes pile up and laundry has to be done , and flowers are bought at 10 o'clock in the morning. Though it breaks my heart a tiny bit; I do feel blessed that my kids are healthy and I loved the flowers. In the grand scheme of things we are really aren't a family that makes a big deal about any holiday, birthday, anniversary! And that likely is all on me. If I wanted a big hoopla for Mother's Day, than I probably should have started from the moment they were little - making all events more special and memorable.
I had a nice day, I spent the morning with my parents (I broke the Stay Home orders...)! We visited and watched the online Worship service together. We laughed and it was so nice. It was exactly where I needed to be. When I got home we had a light lunch and then we took a family drive to Cablela's ( there really are not many stores open at this time). The kids didn't fight and Aaron didn't yell at anyone - so it was a successful trip. I got a new baseball hat. The longer the Quarantine goes, the more likely you will see me in a baseball hat on.
After dinner ( everyone made there own); the kids and I played card games. Parker is so competitive and Reese hates to lose.
I know I am not a great mom. I am not one for the record books. I think I do an ok job.
